Nicaragua School Project Society WORKS education shouldn’t have economic boundaries

School Supplies: A common reason why children don't attend school in Nicaragua is because their parents cannot afford the necessary school supplies. Many children feel embarrassed when they don't have proper supplies and often leave school never to return. Our projects are aimed at preventing school drop-outs and encourage children to take advantage of their right to education. Yearly, we supply about 600 children with school supplies. Our packages include six notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers and a pencil sharpener. The packages cost between $3.00 - $6.00 USD per package. We also purchase art supplies and learning tools for the preschoolers in the two schools. All of the supplies are purchased in Granada, Nicaragua with donated funds.

Supplies for Teachers: In order to have successful students, we must have productive teachers. Our project ensures that the teachers of the schools are supplied with dry eraser markers and other necessary equipment to make their jobs easier and more effective.

Sponsorship: Our project currently sponsors a 14 year old girl named Hilce to attend private school in Granada. When her father left, her mother was unable to pay the tuition of her school where she was excelling. Nicaragua School Project stepped in to make sure that she could continue at the school she felt comfortable. We hope to continue to help other students with difficult family situations. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of a student personally, please email me directly.
